Saarland's biggest marathon!

The event is open to everyone.

Amateur and licensed athletes of all ages are eligible to participate in all distances! Club membership is not required.
There will be no separate ranking for licensed and amateur athletes.

The Saar River carves a unique loop through the valley, creating a magnificent backdrop for an event where breath-taking nature is rivalled only by your ambition: Welcome to SaarschleifenBike! Come and explore our region’s glorious natural landscape on routes ranging from 30 km to 98 km!

What are the start times?


  • From 7 am:
    registration / late registration and distribution of race numbers for SaarschleifenBike, Ursapharm Company Championship and YoungStar Cup up to 30 minutes before the respective start time.

  • 9.00 am: Ultra Marathon (97 km*)
  • 9:45 am: E-Bike Challenge (35 km* & 52 km*)
  • 10:15 am: Half Marathon (52 km*)
  • 10:45 am: Under-15s, Sport Track

Are there sanitary facilities and showers?


Toilets are available at the venue in the Cloef-Atrium building.
The showers are located in the sports hall at the local school (Saarbrücker Str. 17, D-66693 Mettlach).

Can I change my selected route?


You can easily re-register for the event. Please let us know in good time at info@inmedia.info.

How much is the entry fee?


For those who register up to May 25:

Who is eligible to participate?


The event is open to everyone. Amateur and licensed athletes can take on all distances! No club affiliation is required. Amateur and licensed athletes are not ranked separately.

Which bikes are approved?


The SaarschleifenBike and Ursapharm Company Championship course is only suitable for mountain bikes. Please carry out your own safety check! Bikes with electric drive systems are not allowed to participate in the MTB competitions (except in e-bike competitions)!


Please note that helmets are compulsory!

What are the requirements for e-bikes?


If you have a standard e-bike, there’s no need to worry. If you want to know the exact specifications, please refer to the technical requirements on this page: Ausschreibung.

Disqualification

The event can only run smoothly if everyone behaves considerately. The organizer reserves the right to exclude participants or impose other penalties in exceptional circumstances, particularly in the case of health problems and gross breaches of the rules. Any participants who are too slow may be taken out of the race after exceeding the time limit.

Timekeeping

BR-Timing is the official timekeeper for the event (https://www.br-timing.de).
Your individual time will be recorded by a transponder integrated into the handlebar plate (block start = start time).

How is the route secured?


As your safety is very important to us, the route is monitored by security personnel and the German Red Cross.

Where can I park my car?


  • Parking lot next to the Hotel zur Saarschleife

  • Varadeser Park – 250 m from the venue
  • 
Elementary school parking lot – 1,000 m from the venue

  • Sports hall parking lot – 950 m from the venue

  • Rewe Markt parking lot (Sunday only) – 400 m from the venue


The parking spaces at the Cloef-Atrium are not available. They are reserved for emergency services and the press and can only be accessed with an entry permit!

Where can I park my camper van?


There are camper van parking spaces with toilets approx. 400 m from the start and finish line. You will find them in the parking lot at the local rehabilitation clinic. You can park there for a fee. Water, electricity and lighting are not provided.


The parking facilities are signposted at the traffic circle near the Cloef-Atrium.

You will also find official camper van sites at the Abbey Brewery in Mettlach (please note the road closures).
Event participants can also use the Orscholzer Jugendzeltplatz, a youth campsite located approx. 3,100 m from the start and finish line. There you will find toilets, showers and lighting. The site is suitable for camper vans and tents.

How do I redeem a voucher?


It’s very simple: Take a photo of your voucher, say that you want to redeem it for the next event, specify the route you want to take, share your address and date of birth, and send everything to info@inmedia.info.
We will take care of your registration.

What should I do if I have registered but will not be able to take part?


No problem! These things happen. Just send us a medical certificate so that we can transfer your money back to you. Alternatively, you can assign your starting place to someone else – just send an email to info@inmedia.info and we will change the details for you.
